At the age of 6 he began his musical studies with his grandmother and his former professors Ismael Vásquez (student of Ivan Galamian), and Joen Vásquez (student of Margaret Pardee, and graduated from Julliard School) in his native country Venezuela. During his education he was a student of Gastón García (graduated from the Universidad Central de Venezuela – UCV), José Manuel Román (graduated from Moscow State Tchaikovsky Conservatory), and Santiago Garmendia (graduated from Julliard School).
He has been working for more than 16 years with children and young people –with boys and girls from all social classes in the most vulnerable social environment, and has even worked in a program for homeless children. Ettore has been a trainer in institutions such as ''El Sistema", "Fe y Alegría (Popular Education and Social Promotion Movement)", and has also developed as an instructor working for "Núcleo Los Chorros" —INAM, a program of the Ministry of Health and Social Development, (MSDS)— that provides organizational charts and lists of programs to help minors in situation of abandonment or danger, and a sub-program of institutions for assistance to minors which includes workshops and shelters.
‘’I listened to your recordings and I am impressed with your beautiful playing. The Bach movements show you as an expressive and serious with musical imagination, freedom in shaping the phrases, and meaningful tone. I do not think I have ever heard the Hindemith quite that fast’’.
–Frank Foerster (Principal of New Jersey Symphony Orchestra)
‘’I listened to some of your clips and was impressed by your determination and extroverted musicianship’’.
–Peter Slowik (Oberlin Conservatory).
