Héctor Vásquez is a professional violist. At the age of 6, he began his musical studies with his grandmother and his former professors Ismael Vásquez (student of Ivan Galamian), and Joen Vásquez (student of Margaret Pardee, and graduated from The Juilliard School) in his native country Venezuela. He started studying Viola with Santiago Garmendia (graduated from The Juilliard School), Gastón García (graduated from the Universidad Central de Venezuela – UCV), and José Manuel Román (graduated from Moscow State Tchaikovsky Conservatory). 

He developed professional music studies at New World School of the Arts (Miami, 2000), Carnegie Mellon (Pittsburg, 2004), Universidad Central de Venezuela (Caracas, 2013), and Universidad Simón Bolívar (Caracas, 2015). 

As to his orchestral experience he has performed as main Viola in several professional orchestras, such as, Juvenil de Caracas Orchestra (1994), Antonio José de Sucre Orchestra (1996), Camerata Bach de Venezuela (1999), Sixth Annual Community Side-by-Side Concert with the Pittsburgh Orchestra (2005). In 1999 he was a member of the Simón Bolivar Orchestra of Venezuela, where he could act under the conduction of Claudio Abbado, Sir Simon Rattle, Daniel Barenboim, among others.  

 

Due to his professional studies and musical experience, he can be now recognized as a professional violist performer. Nevertheless, not only he has acquired valuable knowledge about music and performing arts, but also, he has transmitted it to several students during his career. Since 2008 he has been a remarkable Professor for ‘’El Sistema’’ (Venezuela), ‘’Simón Bolivar Conservatory’’ (Venezuela), ‘’CAFAM’’ (Colombia), ‘’Musika Lesson’’ (U.S.A). Currently, he works for the JHO program in several activities as Youth Care Worker at ‘’Holy Family Institute’’, Also, he is the founder of the music academy "International Music Vasquez Academy".

Ettore Vásquez is an inspiringly-talented Musician who has dedicated himself to music and performing.

He has participated in Courses and Master Classes with remarkable musicians such as, Manuel Román (from Reina Sofia), Joen Vásquez (Assistant on the Pittsburgh Symphony), Pamela Mc Connell (from University of Miami), Gerald Cousse (from Conservatory of Paris), Atar Arad (from Indiana University), and Charles Pickler (principal of the Chicago Symphony).

He got a full scholarship to participate in the Sewanee Music Festival USA as well as in the Hot Springs Music Festival with Igor Fedotov (Michigan University).

He was selected by professor Janet Sung of the Julliard School of Music, Drew Irvin (concert master of the Arkansas Symphony), and Daniel Cline (Cellist) to participate in the Chamber Musicians Festival interpreting Schubert, Quartettsatz.
